This brief provides an overview of the religious and cultural practices in the Orthodox Jewish Community and examines some of the challenges facing Orthodox Jewish families. It then discusses how to make relationship education programs appropriate to the cultural sensitivities of young Jewish adults and families and provides recommendations to safety-net service providers working with these families.

Journal Article Objective: This study investigated children of alcoholics' (COAs) exposure to inter-parental conflict before and after their fathers received alcohol treatment and compared exposure levels to a community comparison sample. Method: This study included 67 couples with a treatment-seeking male alcoholic partner and children aged 4-16. The alcoholic fathers and their relationship partners provided data at baseline and at six and twelve month follow-ups. Journal Article Following an earlier randomized clinical trial, now with broadened sample criteria, 236 low-income White, Mexican American, and African American couples participated in 16-week Supporting Father Involvement couples groups, with assessments at baseline, 2-, and 13-months postintervention. Because couples in the earlier control condition experienced no benefits and some declines in adaptation, a control condition was not offered.
