When Black married couples separate, they do so for longer durations without ever divorcing when compared to married adults from other racial and ethnic groups. Long periods of separation also have the potential to undermine individual well-being, child welfare, and family stability. Information is provided on the wide variety of people who living the United States and ways young people can show respect for other people and their belongings, respect for individual space, and respect for other people's bodies. The guide also discusses being kind to friends, avoiding bullying, ways to handle strong feelings, and living with respect.
